FAQs

When is the Hallow Summit?

The Summit doors will open for welcoming registration on Friday at 3pm ET on August 2nd, 2024 and the event will conclude on Sunday, August 4th with a closing Mass at noon.

How do I get to the Hallow Summit?

The easiest way to arrive to Franciscan University is to fly to the Pittsburgh National Airport (PIT) and then drive to the campus.

What is the registration cost and what does it cover?

The current admission price is $349. This includes access to all of the talks, events, and sessions during the Summit weekend. This does not include housing or meals.

How can I prepare for the Hallow Summit before attending?

We would invite you to reflect on your current prayer life and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what graces you are in need of. A helpful way to do this is to pray an examination of conscience with an eye toward discovering the virtues you need to grow in or by praying an Examen in reflection of the year thus far. Coming prepared with an open mind and heart is the best way to take full advantage of the Summit.

Do I have to be Catholic or Christian to attend?

We welcome attendees of all backgrounds regardless of where you are on your journey! The conference will be rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church but we hope that you consider experiencing the Summit even if you are not Catholic.

Will there be a virtual option?

Hallow is a virtual tool, but this conference is a physical in-person experience and as such we will not be offering live-streamed options.

Will there be Mass offered?

Yes, there will be Mass offered every day.

What are the meal options?

We strongly encourage all participants to purchase the food package which is $88.00 and includes Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast/lunch/dinner, and Sunday breakfast/take-home lunch.

What are the lodging options?

There are convenient lodging options on campus that allow you to be as close as possible to the Summit. These 4 housing options are made available through the university:

1. Shared AC/Shared Bathroom – $130
2. Shared AC/Private Bathroom – $150
3. Private AC/Shared Bathroom – $260
4. Private AC/Private Bathroom – $300

Options 2 and 4 are located in the lower campus, a 10-15 minute uphill walk to the Summit. Transportation will be offered if you're staying in options 2 or 4 and prefer not to walk.

There are also several Hotels nearby that are available for booking:

1. Franciscan Square Inn and Suites Best Western Plus
2. Wingate by Wyndham
3. Fairfield Inn and Suites (Weirton)
4. Holiday Inn and Suites (Weirton)
5. Comfort Inn (Weirton)

How old must I be to attend?

The Hallow Summit is classified as an Adult Steubenville conference, all event attendees must be at least 18 years of age to attend.

What should I do for transportation?

If you signed up more than two weeks before the Summit you would have had an option to select a shuttle service to Franciscan. They will e-mail you individually ahead of the pick up date with instructions. If you signed up within the 2 weeks before the Summit, please e-mail transportation@franciscan.edu directly to see if room is left on the shuttle. You can also arrange for a taxi service or rent a car. Please note that ordering Uber/Lyft or other ride-share apps once you are at Franciscan to return to Pittsburgh might be difficult as few drivers are available.

Parking is available on campus, follow the signs to the appropriate lot.
